Propositions We Strongly Support
Village of Bolingbrook – Video Gaming
This is something that we as Democrats should be behind. It creates revenue and cuts down on criminalizing the illegal gaming that already occurs there.
Roselle – Adult-Use Cannabis and Village of Woodridge – Adult-Use Cannabis
This is huge and we should support the same of marijuana across the county.
Why we support:
1. Boost the Economy
2. Criminal justice impact (i.e. cigarettes are legal HOWEVER selling cigarettes without a permit is not. We use this analogy because at some point folks are going to legally buy in one place and sell in these restricted places for profit. And those folks will technically be criminals)
3. Senior Citizens – To obtain a medical license cost money. There are seniors that have to drive to other places simply to buy. We think it should be sold locally because it is legal.
Milton Township – Community Mental Health
Maintain and establish mental health facilities and services – This is Uber important for us to get behind , especially during CVOID.
